Resilin-Based Hydrogel Development Services
As one of the most flexible rubber-like proteins, resilin is an insoluble and heat-stable biomaterial that exhibits sufficient elasticity, high elongation, low stiffness, efficient energy storage, outstanding resilience, and superior fatigue properties. As a pioneer in the field of hydrogel development, Matexcel is committed to providing professional and efficient customized resilin-based hydrogel development services to customers worldwide. We look forward to collaborating with experts and scholars in the hydrogel industry to promote the application of resilin-based hydrogels in biomedical and other fields.
Introduction to Resilin-Based Hydrogel
Resilin is an insect structural protein that exhibits rubber-like elasticity featuring reversible ductility with superior elasticity, low energy storage modulus, and efficient energy storage and release, all of which give resilin unique and unprecedented advantages in the design of new elastomers and highly mechanically active biomaterials. In addition, natural resilin exhibits an excellent fatigue life cycle, in some cases withstanding up to 400 million repetitive contraction/extension cycles over a frequency range of 200 to 4000 Hz. However, due to its low stability during purification, creating elastin primary sequences from its natural source has been challenging. Recently, multiple versions of recombinant elastin based on consensus repetitive amino acid sequences derived from the mosquito analogue Anopheles gambiae or Drosophila melanogaster have been developed, thus opening the way for the fabrication of biologically active and mechanically robust hydrogels with the desired high-frequency responsiveness. Given the excellent biochemical and biophysical characteristics of resilin-based hydrogels, there is an increasing demand for them in the biomedical field.
