Product Name | Gelatin from cold water fish skin |
Description | Gelatin is a heterogeneous mixture of water-soluble proteins of high average molecular masses, present in Collagen. The proteins are extracted by boiling skin, tendons, ligaments, bones, etc. in water. Gelatin was used for coating cell culture to improve the attachment of cells. It was used as a blocking reagent in Western blotting, ELISA, and immunohistochemistry. Gelatin can also be used as a component of media for species differentiation in bacteriology. Gelatin is a biocompatible polymer and has been used as a delivery vehicle for the release of bioactive compounds and in the generation of scaffolds for engineering applications. Gelatin was used in the murine lethality assay which is used to examine the ability of SMAbs, either alone or in combination, to neutralize the effects of BoNT/A1 in vivo. Recommended for use as a cell culture substratum at 0.1-0.2 mg/cm2 or 5-10 μl/cm2. Optimal concentration depends on cell type as well as the application or research objectives.Gelatin was used to study the ultrastructural distribution of the α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor subunit in rat hippocampus. It was also used in a study to test soybean protein concentrate as a protein source for turbot Scophthalmus maximus L. |
